Following the Road home

Sadly, camp is officially over. Thankfully, as we leave we take the new friendships we've made, and the knowledge we've learned about Following the Road. We know how we can Follow the Road with all our mind, all of our heart, and how to have the courage we need to share hope along the way.

I have many pictures from camp that I haven't been able to post yet. I will work on making a camp video once I get back home.

For now, here are a few pictures from this morning. Thank you to the parents that sent mail to camp. Campers loved hearing from you.

We'll see you all back at home!

Day 3 morning pictures

Day 3 of camp has gotten off to a rainy, yet fun start. The PASSPORT staff are so prepared, they know how to make camp fun, even in the rain!

Today our key verse is "But you must defend those who are helpless and have no hope. Be fair and give justice to the poor and hopeless." Proverbs 31:8-9 (CEV). The kids are learning that sometimes it takes courage to help others that have no hope. We are learning how we can lean on God to receive the courage we need to help the people around us.

Below are a few photos from morning Bible study and recreation. The campers are about to head to lunch, and thankfully the sun is starting to shine. We might get to go swimming after all! :)

Day 2 Worship Skit

Each day the campers get to choose an activity to participate in during afternoon rotations. They can choose from activities like canoeing, drama, sports, cooking, music, crafts, etc. If they are in the drama or music rotations, the campers get to perform their skit or song in worship that evening.

Today we had three campers in the drama rotation (Gavin, Macy, Olivia W. and Mary), and they did the skit in  Day 2's worship service. The skit tied right into what we were learning for the day as well!

I apologize in advance for my sub par videography skills. I thought the skit was too cute not to share. Enjoy!

Day 2 - Afternoon Pictures

Here are a few more pictures from the afternoon of Day 2 (Sunday). Kids are now all up for Day 3 and headed off to breakfast in the rain. :)

1. Afternoon recreation with their Bible study groups.

2 . Afternoon rotations - Our campers signed up for activities such as canoeing, crafts, cooking, drama, music, and sports.

 3.  Afternoon free time campers swam at the pool, went to the camp store, made bandanarama bracelets, and play gaga ball.

4. Worship Response time - each night after worship our church group gets together to talk about what we learned during the day. Last night during our worship response time the campers were making prayer flags. During worship time, in our prayer experience, we were instructed to draw a picture on the prayer flag. The picture would represent their prayer to God.

5. Missions Night Market - The campers went through a simulated India Villiage of the Banjara people. Campers learned and experienced many activities they helped them learn about the culture of the Banjara people.
